We love using box.com as our primary cloud storage here at Eustace Consulting.
While they offer unbelieveable storage and security measures, we’ve found the sync to not be quite as robust as dropbox.com. Thanks to an article I read, we found a way to map your box.com account as a network drive, essentially, getting rid of the need for any servers, and making the cloud storage invisible to some users used to accessing data through mapped drives! Here’s how:
Open “My Computer”
Right Click “My Computer”, and select “Map network Drive”
Click the link “Connect to a Website…”
For the url source, enter https://www.box.com/dav
Click Next
Enter your box.com credentials, and there you have it, a networked drive!
Feel free to contact us if you’d like to get rid of those antiquated servers, and stop worrying about backups!
