While making my way through my daily news sites and social feeds, I happened to stumble upon a phenomenal FREE product from Google, called Google Refine.
Google Refine is a tool that allows you to cleanse and transform data from various disperate sources. Often times when gathering multiple data sources to import data into salesforce, or another system, a lot of manual cleansing is required in excel. We’ve become experts at writing vlookups and other excel formulas to finally get the data in an appropriate format for import into a database.
Google Refine makes it that much easier, and on top of it all, allows you to scrape data from webpages, cleanse it, and load it into salesforce for analysis.
