Now that the summer is winding down and the air is getting crisp, we at Eustace Consulting can’t help but be excited about Salesforce’s upcoming Dreamforce Conference in San Francisco, November 12-21, 2013. The annual cloud computing event always holds big surprises, often completely changing the game in the SaaS industry. This year the keynote speakers will be especially outstanding, including Sheryl Sandberg–COO of Facebook–and Marissa Mayer–President and CEO of Yahoo!. Additionally, mind-and-soul guru Deepak Chopra MD will be giving an address, and of course the CEO of SFDC, Marc Benioff himself will kick things off.
This year, Dreamforce will feature over 1000 informative, expert-led sessions, a Cloud Expo that showcases over 350 cloud companies, the opportunity to become SFDC certified on-site, tons of networking opportunities, and a huge concert in AT&T park that promises to be performed by an “epic” artist (in the past they have hosted everyone from Stevie Wonder to Metallica, so we’re sure we won’t be disappointed!). The event is sure to bring some of Salesforce’s top evangelists, with companies such as Google, HP, Virgin, Pandora, and Coca-Cola already counted as loyal attendees and users.
This year’s conference theme is “The Customer Company Revolution,” which this promo video helps shed light upon. In short, Salesforce asserts that the days of customers being passive and putting up with poor customer service are over–now consumers have a loud, public voice, strong opinions, and many, many choices. If one company fails to fulfill their desires, it’s extremely simple for them to find someone who will; thus, new customer loyalty is all about building trust, listening, and maintaining the utmost levels of approachability and accessibility. The ideal modern company, Salesforce argues, is a Customer Company.
But the fun is just beginning! More updates, exciting speakers, and huge announcements are sure to come, so remember to watch #DF13 on Twitter and Facebook for the latest.
