Today we invite you to get to know Jen Blair, a Eustace veteran of almost 2 years. Before joining us, Jen got her degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), then worked for recruiting giant Monster as a CRM architect. She represents for the Eustace Team out west, residing in Worcester with husband Jamie and Akita pup Jasmine. An outdoor enthusiast with the voice of an angel, Jen can always make you feel better on a bad day.
1. What is the best part about developing Salesforce?
There are a couple of great aspects. First, Salesforce folks are just cool to work with! The unique, modern, energetic company culture there can’t help but spill out to their consulting partners. The second thing I love is the opportunity to work with several companies at once, each doing completely different things, but each using Salesforce in a different way. It really keeps the job exciting, interesting and challenging!
2. What do you think is the “future” of SaaS?
The future is now! Most of my digital life is already in the cloud – my career, my entertainment, my shopping, my social collaboration…and the list goes on! The perpetual releases of better/smaller/faster mobile devices and apps just make living in the cloud easier and easier. I’m sure there will come a day when the only companies with server rooms are the ones providing the SaaS applications.
3. What has been your favorite project you’ve done so far and why?
One of the coolest consulting projects I’ve worked on was to write code that gives an installed medical device the capability to create Cases in Salesforce when a part of the device is not functioning properly. This allows the manufacturer’s customer service team to be more proactive in servicing their instruments. Integration projects are always the most complex, but they are also the most rewarding.
4. Finally, what is your favorite EC Team memory?
I have a couple of favorite Eustace Consulting memories: the 2012 Holiday Dinner in Cambridge was an amazing time, as well as our “Eustace Fun Day” of bowling at King’s!
