We recently had another challenge with a client dealing with salesforce communities and box.com. The official word from box.com is that salesforce communities are NOT supported.
Using a combination of the box.com toolkit , box embed widget url and some custom visualforce, we were able to get the box.com integration working with salesforce communities! See below for the use case!
