Recently for a client, we had an issue where the client needed to map lead fields to multiple objects, where simply using formula fields was not adequate. The client needed to retain the history on each individual object. To add fuel to the fire, they also have multiple lead, account, contact and opportunity recordtypes that also had logic and rules that needed to be mapped.
We were able to come up with a solution to build our own custom lead conversion, assigning the mappings to each applicable object. With this done, you can map a lead to account, contact, and opportunity separately, while also managing the recordtypes for each. Watch the video below to see it in action!
