The launch of the next generation Community Cloud will include updates such as Targeted Recommendations, Lightning Community Builder and Templates, and Salesforce Files Connect for Google Drive, that will assist with the relationship between companies and their customers, partners, and employees. By increasing these engagements, customers will be able to improve services, increase sales through channel partners, and generate more commited employees. The Community Cloud is a Salesforce1 application, allowing for mobile use which gives users easy access to all of the Community Cloud’s features, including all of the new updates.
Targeted Recommendations
Targeted Recommendations work to convey the most important and applicable content to users, allowing for a more personalized experience. By analyzing each user’s community interaction quality and profiles, the feature identifies certain users as subject-matter experts and recommends him or her to other community members. Community managers are also able to suggest content with specified information and can post feed announcements targetted to specific users. Additionally, community managers are able to send personalized notes to employees and customers, allowing for a closer interaction for sharing information.
Availability: Targeted Recommendations are currently available, with additional features being added in the second half of 2015.
Lightning Community Builder and Templates
Lightning Community Builder and Templates allows all buisness users to conveniently deploy a community that is fully customizable, branded, and able to be used on mobile devices by all business users. Using the Lightning Builder, companies will also be able to create custom communities. Additionally, companies will also be given the opportunity to use Lightning Components to develops their own apps and will be able to then add those apps to their communities. New Templates will allow users to customize the data integrations, usability, and design by simply dragging and dropping them as widgets.
Availability: Lightning Community Builder and Templates are currently available, with additional functions of Community Builder such as drag and drop components and custom Lightning component integration being added in the second half of 2015.
Salesforce Files Connect for Google Drive
Salesforce Files Connect for Google Drive allows for the sharing of files from Google Drive so that all users can easily access files from one centralized location. Community members will also be able to simutaelously work together on editing files from seperate computers and locations. Files in Google Drive can also be attached to records, which allows files to be placed directly into the business flow.
Availability: Salesforce Files Connect for Google Drive is currently available for Chatter and Employee Community licenses, and will be available for Partner Community and Customer Community licences in the second half of 2015.
